Dr. Rowan Chlebowski (GCRC investigator and Chair of GAC) has his research program located in Building J3, encompassing over 3,000 sq ft in a single story with convenient access to patient parking. In 1994, the building was completely renovated and re-designed specifically to house investigators and staff of Dr. Chlebowski’s Cancer Prevention Program and now provides an optimal environment for implementing research activities. The Center includes a large reception area with multiple computer access sites, a spacious and contemporary waiting area, three private interview rooms, a patient examination room, a large 50-person capacity conference for group presentations, a completely equipped kitchen/conference room for internal in-services and team meetings, a large medical record storage area separate from patient access areas with additional conference room/work space, eleven private offices, and additional work areas for Dr. Chlebowski’s administrators and staff. The Center focuses on recruitment of large-scale studies such as the WHI and the SELECT trial, screening visits, and activities including group presentations and follow-up visits not requiring blood draws or physical examinations. This building is adjacent to the GCRC Outpatient unit where study visits are conducted.
